Invitation for Bids
1. The Republic of Uzbekistan has received a loan from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) toward the cost of the CAREC Regional Road Project and intends to apply part of the proceeds of the Loan to payments under the contract for the supply and delivery to Uzbekistan of Road Construction Equipment. 2. The ADB Project Implementation Unit (PIU) of the Uzbek Road Fund (the Purchaser) now invites sealed bids from eligible Bidders for the supply and delivery of the following:
3. International competitive bidding will be conducted in accordance with ADB's Single Stage: One-Envelope Bidding Procedure and is open to bidders from eligible source countries. Bids are invited for individual lots or for any combination of lots. Lots shall not be further subdivided for the purposes of bidding. 4. Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from the Purchaser and inspect the Bidding Document at the address given below from 10:00am and 5:00pm. Ministry of Finance 5. The Bidding Document, in the English language, may be purchased by interested bidders on the submission of a written application to the address above and upon payment a non-refundable fee of US$300 or equivalent in Uzbek soums using the exchange rate of the Central Bank of Uzbekistan on date of payment. The method of payment will be by bank transfer to the accounts below. The document will be sent by courier services, if required, upon payment of an extra fee of US$100. No liability will be accepted for loss or late delivery.
6. Bids must be delivered to the address above at or before 11:00 am (Tashkent Time) on 29 October 2008. All bids must be accompanied by a Bid Security as mentioned in the table above, or the equivalent in Uzbek Soum or a freely convertible currency. Late bids shall be rejected. Bids will be opened immediately after in the presence of bidder's representatives who choose to attend at the address indicated above. 7. The Purchaser will not be responsible for any costs or expenses incurred by bidders in connection with the preparation or delivery of bids. 8. In the comparison of bids, ADB's Domestic Preference Scheme will be applied in accordance with the provisions stipulated in the Bidding Document. Specific Notice |
