1.    The Socialist Republic of Viet Nam has received a loan from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) toward the cost of Second Red River Basin Sector Project. Part of this loan will be used for payments under the contracts named follows.

2.    The Central Project Office (CPO), on behalf of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (the Employer) now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for: Supply, delivery of mechanical and electrical equipments and installation of pump units for Binh Han and Cau Sop pumping stations: 7 vertical shaft, axial flow units of pump with capacity 8,000 m3/h/unit for Binh Han pumping station and 11 vertical shaft, axial flow units of pump with capacity 3,600 m3/h/unit for Cau Sop pumping station.

3.    International Competitive Bidding will be conducted in accordance with ADB's Single-Stage: One Envelope Bidding Procedure and is open to all bidders from eligible countries.

5.    To purchase the Bidding Document in English, eligible bidders should:

  • write to the address above;
  • pay a non-refundable fee of USD200 by cash for each package. Bidders requesting delivery by courier must pay an additional USD50 to cover the courier services. No liability will be accepted for loss or late delivery.

6.    Bidders shall submit their bids:

  • to the address above;
  • " on or before 9:30 am on 25 July 2008. Late bids will be rejected.
  • together with a Bid Security of not less than USD 25,000.

Bids will be opened immediately thereafter in the presence of the bidders' representatives who choose to attend.

7.    The Employer will not be responsible for any cost or expenses incurred by Bidders in connection with the preparation or delivery of Bids.

8.    When comparing Bids, ADB's Domestic Preference Scheme will be applied in accordance with the provisions stipulated in the Bidding Document.
