Invitation for Bids
1. This Invitation for Bids follows the General Procurement Notice for this project that appeared in the ADB Business Opportunities on 11 January 2006. 2. The Socialist Republic of Viet Nam has received a loan from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) towards the cost of the Northern Power Transmission Expansion Sector Project, and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this loan to payments under the contract for the supply of Package I-2: Steel Towers, Lots 1, 2 , 3 and 4 for the Son La - Hoa Binh/ Son La - Nho Quan 500kV Transmission Line Subprojects. 3. Electricity of Vietnam (EVN)/Northern Vietnam Power Project Management Board (NPPMB) (the Purchaser) now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for supply of steel towers. The goods and services of this package are divided into 4 (four) lots as follows:
Bidders have the option to bid for one, a combination of two or three lots, or all four lots. 4. Bidders are required to have satisfactory experience in the execution of 2 similar contracts for supply of steel towers for transmission lines having a voltage rating of at least 220 kV and a contract value equal to VND 30 billion/lot or USD 1,900,000/lot. Average annual turnover (converted into US Dollars) of the bidder should at least be equal to the offered price. 5. International competitive bidding will be conducted in accordance with ADB's Single-Stage: One-Envelope Bidding Procedure and is open to all bidders from eligible countries. 6. Interested eligible Bidder may obtain further information and inspect the Bidding Document at the following address from 08:00 hours to 16:00 hours, Hanoi time, from 24 July 2008 (except weekends and holidays).
