Invitation for Bids
1. This Invitation for Bids follows the General Procurement Notice for this project that appeared in the ADB Business Opportunities on 11 January 2006. 2. The Socialist Republic of Viet Nam has received a loan from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) towards the cost of the Northern Power Transmission Expansion Sector Project, and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this loan to payments under the contract for the supply of Package I-3: Silicon rubber insulators and fittings for the Son La - Hoa Binh/ Son La - Nho Quan 500kV Transmission Line Subprojects. 3. Vietnam Electricity (formerly Electricity of Viet Nam) (EVN)/ Northern Vietnam Power Project Management Board (NPPMB) (the Purchaser) now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for Supply of Silicon rubber insulators and fittings. The scope required includes: suspension string : 803 strings, V type - suspension string: 28 strings, jumper string: 378 strings; tension strings: 672 strings; suspension string with counterweight : 152 strings; V-type string with counterweight : 4 strings. 4. Bidders should have executed at least 1 contract over the last 3 years (2005-2007) of supplying the Insulator and Fittings for transmission lines which have a voltage of 220kV or above and a contract value of at least US$2.1 million. Bidders should have an average annual turnover of $5 million, over the last 3 years (2005-2007). 5. International competitive bidding will be conducted in accordance with ADB's Single-Stage: One-Envelope Bidding Procedure and is open to all bidders from eligible countries. 6. Interested eligible Bidders may obtain further information and inspect the Bidding Document at the following address from 08:00 hours to 16:00 hours, Hanoi time, from 11 December 2008 (except weekends and holidays). The Purchaser will not be responsible for any costs or expenses incurred in the preparation and delivery of bids. 11.
