Mekong Leaders Agree on Ambitious 5-Year Development Plan

At today's Greater Mekong Subregion Summit, the prime ministers of Cambodia, People's Republic of China, Lao People's Democratic Republic, Myanmar, Thailand, and Viet Nam agreed on a comprehensive five-year Plan of Action that aims to spur growth, reduce poverty, promote social development and enhance environmental protection in the subregion. As of 31 December 2007, Cambodia had received $947.34 million for 42 loans (33 project loans and nine program loans), $125.55 million for 18 grant projects, and $94.36 million for 144 technical assistance (TA) projects, since joining the ADB in 1966. The majority have been provided since operations resumed in 1992.
