ADB Clean Energy Week

ADB’s Clean Energy Week is a knowledge-sharing event among practitioners and policymakers engaged on cross-cutting issues of clean energy development and financing, climate change, energy access and security, and governance in the energy sector. As a key player in the development of the energy sector in the Asia-Pacific region, ADB’s hosting of the Clean Energy Week provided a unique opportunity for ADB’s developing member countries (DMCs), donor governments, NGOs, and other players with an important stake in the Asian energy agenda to interact and exchange lessons learned across the region.

The 2006 Clean Energy Week preceded the meeting of the Group of Eight whereby ADB contributed towards the development of an Investment Framework on Climate Change, Clean Energy and Sustainable Development.

The three-day event contributed to discussions necessary for ADB to rethink its own energy policy and reformulate a more strategic approach to address the energy needs of its DMCs.
