Technical Support Facility

The Clean Development Mechanism (CDM), a specific category under the Kyoto Protocol applicable to developing countries, is still new to most project developers and sponsors. CMI will provide targeted technical support [ PDF: 85kb | 13 pages ] to project developers and sponsors in the following levels:

1. Upstream support in project preparation
• due diligence: technical, financial, legal, safeguards, governance
• capacity development and policy reform
• carbon credit valuation
• documentation preparation for credits
• obtaining host country approvals
• facilitating project validation and registration
2. Downstream support in project execution and commercialization
• implementation and/or commissioning
• monitoring and verification
• certification and issuance of credits to Fund and project developers
