TA 4709-UZB: Rural Energy Development

Objectives

The TA is aimed at promoting economic development in the rural areas of Anijan, Fergana, and Samarkand regions by providing reliable and sustainable clean energy. The project preparatory outcome will be an agreement with the Ministry of Agriculture and Water Resources and the Government of the project’s design, a design, a detailed feasibility report, and the implementation arrangements of the project.

Inputs

US$300,000 financed by the Finnish Fund; Consulting Services – 9 person-months international and 24 person months domestic.

Status

ADB review mission was held on 6-12 June 2006 with the Government to discuss final details of the proposed ensuing loan project. The mission was upgraded to a Loan fact-finding mission. The draft final report was received on 29 June 2006.
