Brief Description of Project:
The proposed investment program will improve transport efficiency of the state road network, which will contribute to expansion of economic opportunities and poverty reduction.Brief Description of Works, Goods and Services to be Procured:
The proposed investment program will rehabilitate and improve about 1,600 km of state highways and 2,000 km of major district roads identified under state road development programs. Road improvement works under the proposed loan include strengthening and widening exiting roads, strengthening existing culverts and bridges, and constructing new cross-drainage structures. The investment program will also provide overall sector management capacity.
For each subproject, advance contracting for procurement of goods and services will be allowed, subject to these being eligible according to agreed procedures, and ADB's Guidelines for Procurement. Consulting Services: The Consultants shall be selected and engaged in accordance with the Guidelines on the Use of Consultants by ADB and its Borrowers (February 2007).
