Brief description of project

The proposed Water Supply and Sanitation Investment Program (the Investment Program) will improve the quality and coverage of urban services in secondary towns, peri-urban areas surrounding Baku, and other centers in the country. It will benefit approximately 500,000 residents.

The Investment Program has three components: Component A: water supply and sanitation (WSS) infrastructure to boost service coverage, quality, and reliability; Component B: institutional effectiveness, including management and governance; and Component C: Program Management Facilities to oversee program implementation and treatment of various themes such as safeguards.

Brief description of works to be procured: Procurement of Works through ICB - Construction of Water Supply and Sewerage Networks in Goychay Town (Contract No. L-42408-ICB-2.01). Advance procurement actions have been approved due to contract readiness before the loan approval.
