This Invitation for Bids follows the General Procurement Notice for this project that appeared in the "ADB Business Opportunities", Volume 26/No. 1 of January 2004.
The Peoples' Republic of Bangladesh has received a loan from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) toward the cost of Power Sector Development Project. Part of this loan will be used for payments under the contract for procurement of Tools.
The Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB) ("the Purchaser") now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for the supply and delivery of the following goods:

International competitive bidding will be conducted in accordance with ADB's Single-Stage: One-Envelope bidding procedure and is open to all Bidders from eligible source countries.

To obtain the bidding documents in English, eligible bidders should:
- write to the address above
- pay a non-refundable fee of BTK5,000 or US$100 by demand draft or pay order for each Bidding Document in favour of Bangladesh Power Development Board.
The Purchaser will send the Bidding Document by courier. The Purchaser accepts no liability for loss or late delivery.
Bidders shall submit their bids:
- on or before the deadline: 11:00 am on 28 July 2005. Late bids will be rejected.
- together with a Bid Security of US$7,500 or equivalent Bangladesh Taka
- to the address above
BPDB is not responsible for bidders' expenses associated with preparing and delivering bids.
Bids will be opened:
- in the presence of the bidders' representatives who choose to attend
- at 11:30 am on 28 July 2005
- at the address above
When comparing Bids, ADB's Domestic Preference Scheme will be applied in accordance with the provisions stipulated in the Bidding Document.
