Contract: Printing of Core Textbooks and Teacher Guides/2005/1

The Lao People's Democratic Republic has received a loan from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) toward the cost of Basic Education (Girls) Project. Part of this loan will be used for payments under the contract named above.

The Ministry of Education ("the Purchaser") now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for the Supply of Core Textbooks and Teacher Guides. The books have been grouped into two packages, Core Textbooks and Teacher Guides. Both packages form one contract. Partial bids will not be accepted.

International competitive bidding will be conducted in accordance with ADB's Single-Stage: One-Envelope bidding procedure and is open to all bidders from eligible countries.

To obtain the Bidding Document in English, eligible bidders should:

  • write to the above address
  • pay a non-refundable fee of 524,300 kip or US$50 by cash or cashier's check.

The Purchaser will send the Bidding Document by courier. The Purchaser accepts no liability for loss or late delivery.

Pre-bid meeting will take place at 9:30 am local time on 4 August 2005 at the Meeting Room 405, Ministry of Education, Vientiane.

Bidders shall submit their bids:

  • on or before the deadline: 9:30 am on 29 September 2005. Late bids will be rejected.
  • together with a Bid Security of US$12,000
  • to the address above

The Purchaser is not responsible for bidders' expenses associated with preparing and delivering bids.

Bids will be opened immediately thereafter:

  • in the presence of the bidders' representatives who choose to attend
