Contract: Construction and completion of Lekhnath Water Supply and Sanitation Project
The Kingdom of Nepal has received a loan from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) towards the cost of the Small Towns Water Supply and Sanitation Sector Project, and it is intended to apply a portion of the proceeds of this loan to eligible payment under the contract for which this Invitation for Bids is issued.
The Department of Water Supply and Sewerage, Small Towns Water Supply and Sanitation Sector Project (the Employer) now invites eligible bidders from member countries of ADB to resubmit sealed bids for the construction of the following works: Construction and completion of Lekhnath Water Supply and Sanitation Sector Project in Kaski district near Pokhara city. The works to be executed comprise mainly intake structure, reservoirs (6 numbers of 100 to 400 m3 capacity) with treatment and filtration plant, and pipeline works (about 108 km) including the supply and installation of related equipment, electric works and sanitation facilities. The estimated construction duration is 24 months. Contractors will be required in their bids to demonstrate average annual turnover from construction business of at least US $2.2 million over the last five years, and successful completion of at least 2 similar projects with a value of at least US$1.8 million each over the last 10 years. (More details and specifications are provided in the Bidding Document) International competitive bidding will be conducted in accordance with ADB's Single-Stage: One-Envelope bidding procedure and is open to all Bidders from eligible source countries. Post qualification criteria will include the requirements indicated above. Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information, and inspect the Bidding Document at the address given below during office hours (10am - 5pm) on or after 10 May 2005.
