Invitation for Prequalification

The Independent State of Papua New Guinea has received a loan from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) towards the cost of the Road Maintenance and Upgrading (Sector) Project, and it is intended that part of the proceeds of this loan will be applied to eligible payments under the contract for which this Invitation for Prequalification is issued.
The works involve road rehabilitation and upgrading in the provinces of Chimbu, Enga Western, Southern and Eastern Highlands. The Department of Works (DOW) intends to prequalify contractors for the following contracts under the Project.

It is expected that the Invitation for Bids will be made in September 2005.
Prequalification is open to firms and voluntarily formed joint ventures from eligible member countries of ADB. Applications for Prequalification may be submitted for any of the above contracts.
To purchase the Prequalification Document in English:
- write to the address below clearly stating "Request for Prequalification of: (name of one or more of the above contracts) in the Highland Provinces" with their respective Contract Numbers
- pay a nonrefundable fee of US$80 or Kina 400 by Bank Cheque only.
No liability will be accepted for loss or late delivery.
Submission of applications for Prequalification must be received in sealed envelopes, which must be delivered either by hand or by registered mail at the address below on or before 10.00 am on 25 July 2005.
