This Invitation for Bids follows the General Procurement Notice for this project that appeared in the "ADB Business Opportunities", issue of July 2003.

The People's Republic of China has received a loan from the Asian Development Bank (hereinafter referred to as "ADB") towards the cost of Xi'an Urban Transport Project (Third Ring Road System), and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this loan to payments under the contract for Maintenance Equipment.

Instrimpex International Tendering Company (the Purchaser, CNIITC), authorized by Xi'an Third Ring Road Construction & Development Co.,Ltd., now invites sealed Bids from member countries of ADB for the supply of the following goods and related services for the Project:

International competitive bidding will be conducted in accordance with ADB's Single-Stage: One-Envelope procedure and is open to bidders from eligible source countries.

Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from CNIITC and inspect the Bidding Document at the office address given below, working hours from 18 May to 19 July 2005 (except weekends and holidays)

To purchase the Bidding Document in English, eligible bidders should:
  • write to the address below (the Purchaser)
  • pay of a non-refundable fee of RMB 1,600 or US$ 200 for each set in cash or cashier's cheque

The Bidding Document will be sent by EMS for an additional cost of RMB150 (domestic) or US$50 (overseas) . The Purchaser accepts no liability for loss or late delivery.

Bidders should submit their bids:
  • to the address below
  • at or before 10:00 am (Beijing time) on 19 July 2005
  • together with a Bid Security of not less than two percent of the total bid price in the bid currency

Late bids shall be rejected. Bids will be opened immediately thereafter in the presence of the bidders representatives who choose to attend.
