1. India has received a loan from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) towards the cost of Kolkota Environmental Improvement Project, and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this loan to payments under the contract for which this Invitation for Bids is issued.

2. The Kolkota Municipal Corporation (KMC), the Employer, now invites sealed Bids from eligible Bidders for the for the Construction of DWF Pumping Stations for the construction of Borough XII, XIII, and XIV - Package I:

Landscaping area within the pump house and internal roads, pathways, surface drain, etc. lot 1
One year operation during warranty period and operation and maintenance for a further period of one year after completion which may be extended for 3 years lot 1

Bidders may bid for one lot or combination of lots.

3. International Competitive Bidding will be conducted in accordance with ADB'S Single Stage: Two Envelope Bidding procedure and is open to all bidders from eligible source countries.

4. Interested eligible Bidders may obtain further information from Project Director Kolkata Environmental improvement Project (KEIP , and inspect and acquire the Bidding Document, at the address given below.

5. The Bidding Document in the English language, may be purchased by interested Bidders on the submission of a written application to the address below and upon payment of a nonrefundable fee of Rs 10,000 or USD 250. The Bidding Document will be sent by courier for an additional fee of Rs. 1,000 for domestic delivery or Rs.6,000 or USD 150 for overseas delivery. The method of payment will be by demand draft in favor of Kolkota Municipal Corporation, payable at Kolkota. No liability will be accepted for loss or late delivery.

6. A Pre-bid meeting shall be held at the address given below at 11:00 a.m. (IST) on 14 July 2006. Site inspection will be arranged by Project Director, KEIP on 12 and 13 July 2006. Bids must be delivered to the address below at or before 2:30 p.m. (IST) on 10 August 2006. All Bids must be accompanied by a Bid Security of Rs. 2,350,000 or an equivalent amount in a freely convertible currency. Late Bids shall be rejected. Bids will be opened at 2:30 p.m. (IST) on 10 August 2006 in the presence of the Bidders' representatives who choose to attend at the address stated below.
