Loan No. 1869: Madhya Pradesh Power Sector Development Project
Contract No: 06-01/ADB/MPSEB/D-53

1. India has received a loan from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) towards the cost of Madhya Pradesh Power Sector Development Project, and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this loan to payments under the Contract No: 06-01/ADB/MPSEB/D-53 for the supply of goods.

2. Madhya Pradesh State Electricity Board (MPSEB) now invites sealed bids from eligible Bidders for the procurement of R.S. Joists and Steel Sections.

3. International competitive bidding will be conducted in accordance with ADB's Single-Stage: One Envelope bidding procedure and is open to all Bidders from eligible source countries.

4. Interested eligible Bidders may obtain further information from Madhya Pradesh State Electricity Board and inspect the Bidding Document at the address given below from 14:00 hours to 17:00 hours.

5. The Bidding Document, in the English language, may be purchased by any interested Bidders on the submission of a written application to the address below and upon payment of a nonrefundable fee of Rs5,000 or US$100 per bidding document. The method of payment will be by demand draft or banker's cheque payable to RAO (CAU), MPSEB, Jabalpur (M. P.), India. The document will be sent by mail or may be obtained from the address given below. No liability will be accepted for loss or late delivery.

6. All Bids must be delivered to the address below at or before 14:30 hours on 10 August 2006. All Bids must be accompanied by a Bid Security of Rs900,000 or US$19,500. Late Bids shall be rejected. Bids will be opened at 15:30 hours on 10 August 2006 in the presence of the Bidders' representatives who choose to attend at the address given below.

7. MPSEB will not be responsible for any costs or expenses incurred by Bidders in connection with the preparation or delivery of bids.

8. In the comparison of Bids, ADB's Domestic Preference Scheme will be applied in accordance with the provisions stipulated in the Instruction to Bidders.
