1. The Kingdom of Nepal has received a loan from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) towards the cost of the Secondary Education Support Program, and it is intended to apply a portion of the proceeds of this loan to eligible payment under the contract for which this Invitation for Bids is issued.

2. The Department of Education now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for the supply, installation and commissioning of Educational Security Printing Press consisting of the following machines and accessories:

3. International competitive bidding will be conducted in accordance with ADB's Single-Stage: One-Envelope bidding procedure and is open to Bidders from eligible source countries.

4. Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information, and inspect the Bidding Document at the address given below.

5. To purchase the Bidding Document in English, eligible bidders should:
  • write to address above
  • pay a non-refundable fee of NRs8,000 or US115

The Employer will send the Bidding Document by express mail or courier for an additional fee of US$50. The Employer accepts no liability for loss or late delivery.

6. Deliver your bid:
  • to the address above
  • on or before 30 July 2006 , 11:30 local time
  • together with a Bid Security of NRs2.7 million or US$38,000.00 or an equivalent amount in a freely convertible currency

Bids will be opened immediately thereafter in the presence of bidders' representatives who choose to attend.

7. The Employer will not be responsible for costs or expenses incurred by bidders in connection with the preparation or delivery of Bids.

8. In the comparison of bids, ADB's Domestic Preference Scheme will be applied in accordance with the provisions stipulated in the Instructions to Bidders.
