Invitation for Prequalification

1. This Invitation for Prequalification follows the General Procurement Notice for this project that appeared in the "ADB Business Opportunities", issue of July 2003.

2. The People's Republic of China has received a loan from the Asian Development towards the cost of Xi'an Urban Transport Project.

3. Xi'an Third Ring Road Construction and Development Co., Ltd intends to prequalify firms for the following contract

Contract No. FJ01: K4+015?K8+320, 4305 m

4. It is expected that the Invitation for Bids will be made in September 2006.

5. Interested eligible Applicants may obtain further information and inspect the Prequalification Document from the addresses given below, between 0900 to 1100 hours and 1400 to 1600 hours (Beijing time) except Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.

6. The Prequalification Document, in the English language, may be purchased by interested Applicants on the submission of a written application to the addresses below between 0900 to 1100 hours and 1400 to 1600 hours from 15 May 2006 and upon payment of a non-refundable fee of RMBY1,200 or US$ 140 in cash, check or direct deposit.

The Prequalification Document will be sent by mail for an additional fee of RMBY200 or US$25. The Employer or the Procurement Agent will immediately dispatch the Document.

7. Applications must be delivered to the Employer's address above on or before 26 June 2006. The Employer reserves the right to accept or reject late applications.

8. The Employer will not be responsible for costs or expenses incurred by Applicants in connection with the preparation and delivery of Applications.

9. The Employer will notify all Applicants in writing those who have been prequalified.
