1. The People's Republic of Bangladesh has applied for a loan from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) toward the cost of Sustainable Power Sector Development Project, and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this loan to payments under the contract named above.

4. International Competitive Bidding will be conducted in accordance with ADB's Single-Stage: Two-Envelope procedure and is open to all bidders from eligible source countries.

5. Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information and inspect the Bidding Document at the address given below.

6. The Bidding Document, in the English language, may be purchased by interested bidders on the submission of a written application to the address below and upon payment of a non-refundable fee of Tk.21,000 or US$ 300. The method of payment will be through a pay order issued by a scheduled Bangladeshi Bank located in Dhaka or demand draft drawn in favor of Power Grid Company of Bangladesh Ltd, (PGCB).

7. Bids must be delivered to the address below at or before 1:00 pm on 4 July 2007. All bids must be accompanied by a Bid Security of US$150,000 for each lot or an equivalent amount in a freely convertible currency.

8. Bids will be opened immediately thereafter at the address below in presence of the bidders' representatives who choose to attend.

9. In the comparison of bids, ADB's Domestic Preference Scheme will be applied in accordance with the provisions stipulated in the Bidding Document.
