Contract No.:13, Supply, Installation, Testing and Commissioning of Single-Phase (230v), three-phase (400v)whole current prepayment metering units and vending/sales stations

1. The People's Republic of Bangladesh has received a loan from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) toward the cost of West Zone Power System Development Project (WZPSDP), and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this loan to payments under the contract named above.

2. The West Zone Power Distribution Company Limited (WZPDCL) now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for the supply, installation, testing & commissioning of the following package:

3. International Competitive Bidding will be conducted in accordance with ADB's Single-Stage: One Envelope bidding procedure and is open to all bidders from eligible source counters.

4. Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from the address given below from Sunday to Thursday from 09:00 hours to 17:00 hours, Bangladesh Standard Time (BST).

5. The bidding document, in English language, may be purchased starting from 3 June 2007 by interested bidders on the submission of a written application to the address below and upon payment of a nonrefundable fee of Tk 10,000 or US$150. The method of payment will be in the form of demand draft or pay order in favor of Project Director, 5-Town Power Distribution System Development Project of WZPDCL. The document may be sent by courier for an additional fee of Tk 10,000 or an equivalent amount in US$ in favor of WZPDCL. No liability will be accepted for loss or late delivery.

6. Bids must be delivered to the address below at or before 11:00 hours BST on 15 July 2007. All bids must be accompanied by a bid security of US$86,000 or an equivalent amount in freely convertible currency. Late bids will be rejected. Bids will be opened in the presence of the bidders' representatives who choose to attend at the address below at 11:30 hours BST on 15 July 2007.

7. WZPDCL will not be responsible for any costs or expenses incurred by the bidders in connection with the preparation or delivery of bids.

8. In the comparison of bids, ADB's Domestic Preference scheme will be applied in accordance with the provisions stipulated in the Bidding Documents
