This Invitation for Bids follows the General Procurement Notice for this project that appeared in the "ADB Business Opportunities", Volume 26/No. 1 of January 2004.

The People's Republic of Bangladesh has received a loan from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) toward the cost of the Power Sector Development Project. Part of this loan will be used for payments under the contract for procurement of conductor Accessories, Contract No. 12.

The Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB) ("the Purchaser") now invites sealed Bids from eligible Bidders from member countries of ADB for the supply and delivery of the following items:

International competitive bidding will be conducted in accordance with ADB's Single-Stage: One-Envelope bidding procedure and is open to all Bidders from eligible source countries.

To obtain the bidding documents in English, eligible bidders should:

  • write to the address above
  • pay a non-refundable fee of Tk5,000 or US$100 by demand draft or pay order in favour of Bangladesh Power Development Board Dhaka (BPDB) for each Bidding Document.

Bidders shall submit their bids:

  • on or before the deadline : 12:00 am (BST) on 17 March 2005 (Late bids will be rejected.)
  • together with a Bid Security of US$35,000 or equivalent Bangladeshi Taka
  • to the address above

Bids will be opened immediately after in the presence of the bidders' representatives who choose to attend.

  • at 11:30 am (BST) on 17 March 2005
  • at the address above

In the comparison of Bids, ADB's Domestic Preference Scheme will be applied in accordance with the provisions stipulated in the Instructions to Bidders.
