Invitation for Bids

Contract: Construction of the National Load Dispatch Centre (NLDC)

The People's Republic of Bangladesh has received a loan from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) towards the cost of the Power Sector Development Project. Part of this loan will be used for payments under the contract named above. Bidding is open to bidders from eligible source countries of the ADB.
The Power Grid Company of Bangladesh Limited (the Employer) invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for the design-build and completion of the NLDC including the site survey, design, manufacture, transportation, supply, erection, testing and commissioning of SCADA, Energy Management System and Communications System, the NLDC building and minor civil works ("the Works"). It will include the installation of approximately 100 RTUs at substations and power stations and approximately 1,450 km of fibre optic cable on HV transmission lines throughout Bangladesh. The required experience and capability of Bidders are stated in the Bid Document.
International competitive bidding will be conducted in accordance with ADB's Two-Stage: Two-Envelope bidding procedure and is open to all Bidders from eligible source countries.

To purchase the bidding documents in English, eligible bidders should:
- write to the address above
- pay a non-refundable fee of US$400 or Tk24,000 in the form of a pay order/demand draft in favor of the Power Grid Company of Bangladesh Ltd.
Deliver your bid:
- to the address above
- on or before the deadline : 10:00 am (BST) on 20 March 2005
- together with a Bid Security of US$1,000,000 or an equivalent amount in a freely convertible currency.
Bids will be opened immediately after the deadline in the presence of bidders' representatives who choose to attend.
When comparing Bids, ADB's Domestic Preference Scheme will be applied in accordance with the provisions stipulated in the Bidding Document.
