India has received a loan from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) toward the cost of Madhya Pradesh Sector Development Project. Part of this loan will be used for payments under the contract named above.

The Madhya Pradesh State Electricity Board now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for pocurement of distribution transformers covered under one package. The details of package covered under the respective bid is:

International competitive bidding will be conducted in accordance with ADB's Single-Stage: One-Envelope bidding procedure and is open to all Bidders from eligible source countries.

To obtain the bidding documents in English, eligible bidders should:

  • write to the address above
  • pay a non-refundable fee of Rs5,000 or US$100 by demand draft or banker's cheque payable to RAO (CAU), MPSEB, Jabalpur (M.P. INDIA)

The Purchaser will send the Bidding Documents by mail or may be obtained by hand. The document can be sent by registered mail for an additional cost of Rs250 or US$5. The Purchaser accepts no liability for loss or late delivery.

Bidders shall submit their bids:

  • to the address above
  • on or before the deadline: 14:30 hours on 26 April 2005. Late bids will be rejected.
  • together with a Bid Security of US$14,000 or Rs650,000 or an equivalent amount in a freely convertible currency

In case the Bid is submitted by a joint venture/Consortium, the bid security shall be submitted in the name of the joint venture/Consortium covering all partners of the joint venture/Consortium.

The Madhya Pradesh State Electricity Board is not responsible for bidders' expenses associated with preparing and delivering bids.

Bids will be opened:

  • in the presence of the bidders' representatives who choose to attend
  • at 15:30 hours on 26 April 2005
  • at the address above

In the comparison of Bids, ADB' Domestic Preference Scheme will be applied in accordance with the provisions stipulated in the Bidding Document.
