Invitation for Prequalification

Contracts: Contract 1 (Km 3-80, Osh-Gulcha), Contract 2 (Km 80-124, Gulcha - Sopu Korgon)

The Kyrgyz Republic has received a loan from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) toward the cost of Southern Transport Corridor Road Rehabilitation Project. Part of this loan will be used for payments under the contracts listed below.
The Ministry of Transport and Communications (MOTC, the Employer) invites firms to prequalify for the following contracts associated with the project:
Contract 1 will rehabilitate approximately 77 km of the Osh-Gulcha Road Section and will comprise improvement by reconstruction, overlaying of existing pavement, together with new shoulders, road widening and improvements to vertical alignment where necessary, slope stabilization and rehabilitation of existing drainage structures and bridges as well as construction of bridges.
Contract 2 will rehabilitate approximately 44 km of the Gulcha-Sopu Korgon Road Section and will comprise improvement by reconstruction, overlaying of existing pavement, together with new shoulders, road widening and improvements to vertical alignment where necessary, slope stabilization and rehabilitation of existing drainage structures and bridges as well as construction of bridges.

To purchase the Prequalification Document in English:
- write to the address above
- pay a non-refundable fee of Kyrgyz Soms 6,000 or US$150 or by cash or bank transfer to a nominated Ministry bank accounts (details to be provided at the time of payment).
The Employer will send the Prequalification Document by airmail (for overseas delivery), or either collected by hand or sent by surface mail or courier (for local delivery). If requested, the Employer will dispatch the documents by overseas courier for an additional fee of $100. No liability will be accepted for loss or late delivery.
To apply for prequalification, deliver your application to the above address before the deadline: 14:00 hours on 7 April 2005. The Employer reserves the right to accept or reject late applications.
The Employer will not be responsible for any costs or expenses incurred by Applicants in connection with the preparation or delivery of their Applications.
The Employer will send all applicants a list of those who prequalify for the two contracts.
Prequalified bidders can expect to receive invitations for bids in June 2005.
