The Lao People's Democratic Republic has received1 a loan from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) toward the cost of Northern Area Rural Power Distribution Project. Part of this loan will be used for payments under the contracts named above.

The Electricité du Laos (EdL) (the Purchaser) now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for the supply of distribution network materials for medium and low voltage electricity distribution networks. The network materials will be procured under the following separate contracts:

  • NARPD 3.1 Lines Equipment and Tools
  • NARPD 3.2 Concrete Poles and Cross-arms (3 lots)
  • NARPD 3.3 Distribution Transformers
  • NARPD 3.4 Conductors, Cables and Wires
  • NARPD 3.5 Energy Meters

International competitive bidding will be conducted in accordance with ADB's Single-Stage: One-Envelope bidding procedure and is open to all bidders from eligible countries.

If the documents are not obtained in person by bidders' representative, the Purchaser will send the documents by courier. The Purchaser, however, accepts no liability for loss or late delivery.

The Purchaser is not responsible for bidders' expenses associated with preparing and delivering bids.

The price proposals and supplementary price proposals, if provided, will be opened in the presence of the bidder's representatives who choose to attend at the time and date and at the address to be advised by the Employer after approval of the ADB of the evaluation of the technical proposals.
