This Invitation for Prequalification follows the General Procurement Notice for this project that appeared in the "ADB Business Opportunities" on 28th May 2004. The Paksan-Thasi contract will be jointly financed by ADB and the OPEC Fund for Development. The eligibility rules and procedures of ADB will govern the prequalification and the bidding process.

The Lao People's Democratic Republic has received a loan from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) toward the cost of Roads for Rural Development Project. Part of this loan will be used for payments under the contracts listed below.

The Ministry of Communication Transport Post and Construction (MCTPC) (the "Employer") invites firms to prequalify for the following contracts associated with the project:

  • write to the above address
  • pay a non-refundable fee of US$100 by cash of cashier's check

Copies are also available in diskette for an additional fee of US$50.00. The Document will be sent by registered mail or courier at an additional cost. No liability will be accepted for loss or late delivery.

To apply for prequalification, deliver your application to the above address before the deadline: 12:00 hours on 3 April 2005. The Employer reserves the right to accept or reject late applications, and is not responsible for your expenses.

The Employer will send all applicants a list of those who are prequalified for the contracts.

Prequalified bidders can expect to receive invitations for bids in May 2005.
