The Republic of Fiji has received a loan from the Asian Development Bank towards the cost of the Third Fiji Road Upgrading Project and it intends to apply a portion of the proceeds of this loan to eligible payments under the contracts for which this Invitation for Bids is issued.

The Ministry of Works and Energy now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders from member countries of the ADB for two contracts forming part of the construction of the Kings and Lodoni roads in Tailevu province on the island of Viti Levu, Fiji Islands.

The first contract comprises the selection of a subcontractor for the supply of approximately 190,000 tonnes of sub base and 260,000 tonnes of basecourse to the contractors and to the Ministry of Works and Energy.

The second contract comprises the completion of earthworks, drainage and sub base on 20 kms of the Lodoni road and on 9 kms of the Kings road.

International competitive bidding will be conducted in accordance with ADB's Single Stage One Envelope bidding procedure and is open to all Bidders from eligible source countries.

A bidder may bid for one or both lots. Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information and inspect the Bidding Documents at the address given below.

Late bids will be rejected. The Employer will not be responsible for costs or expenses incurred in the preparation or delivery of bids.

A site visit and pre bid meeting will be held on Wednesday 5th April at 0900 at the Kings and Lodoni road construction compound.
