Loan 2221: Rural Infrastructure Support Project
The Republic of Indonesia has applied for a loan from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) towards the cost of the Rural Infrastructure Support Project. The loan was approved 19 December 2005. The Project will form part of the rural infrastructure component of the Government's ongoing Fuel Subsidy Reduction Compensation Program, and it will rehabilitate and improve rural infrastructure in about 1,800 poor and/or isolated villages in less developed districts in East Java, Nusa Tenggara East, South East Sulawesi, and South Sulawesi provinces. ProcurementAll goods and related services financed under the ADB loan will be procured in accordance with ADB's Guidelines for Procurement. Civil works under Part A of the Project ill be contracted out to the communities in compliance with the requirements for community participation as specified in ADB's procurement guidelines, with a contract ceiling of $25,000 equivalent. Consulting Services
An estimated 702 person-months of consulting services, comprising 8 person-months of international and 694 person-months of domestic consultants, will be recruited to assist the Government in implementing the Project. All consulting firms and individual international consultants will be engaged in accordance with ADB's Guidelines on the Use of Consultants and other arrangements satisfactory to ADB.
