India has received a loan from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) towards the cost of Kolkota Environmental Improvement Project and it intends that part of the proceeds of this loan will be applied to eligible payments under the contract for which this Invitation for Bids is issued.

The Kolkota Municipal Corporation (KMC), the Employer, now invites sealed Bids from eligible Bidders from member countries of ADB for the supply, delivery, testing, maintenance and training of KMC staff :

Bidders may bid for any one lot or combination of lots.

International Competitive Bidding will be conducted in accordance with ADB'S Single Stage : Two Envelope Bidding procedure and is open to all bidders from eligible source countries.

Interested eligible Bidders may obtain further information including qualification criteria from, and inspect and acquire the bidding document, at the address stated below.

To purchase the Bidding Document in English, eligible bidders should:

  • write to the address given below
  • pay a nonrefundable fee of Rs.8,000 or an equivalent amount in US Dollars by demand draft in favor of "The Kolkota Municipal Corporation" payable at Kolkota

The Bidding Document will be sent by courier for an additional fee of Rs. 500 (domestic delivery) or Rs 2,000 or an equivalent amount in US Dollars (international delivery).

A pre bid meeting shall be held in the office of the Project Director, KEIP at 11.00 A.M. (IST) on 5 April 2006.

Bidders should submit their bids:
  • to the address below
  • at or before 2:30 p.m. (IST) on 7 May 2006
  • together with a Bid Security of:
    Rs 165,000 - Lot 1
    Rs. 75,000 - Lot 2
    Rs. 310,000 - Lot 3
    Rs. 450,000 - Lot 4

or an equivalent amount in a freely convertible currency

Late Bids shall be rejected. Bids will be opened immediately thereafter after the deadline in the presence of Bidders' representatives who choose to attend at the address stated below.

The Employer will not be responsible for costs or expenses incurred by bidders in connection with the preparation and delivery of bids. In the comparison of Bids, ADB's Domestic Preference Scheme will be applied in accordance with the provisions stipulated in the Bidding Document.
