The Lao People's Democratic Republic has received a loan from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) towards the cost of Roads for Rural Development Project, and it intends that part of the proceeds of this loan will be applied to eligible payments under the contract for which this Invitation for Prequalification is issued.

The Ministry of Communication, Transport, Post and Construction (MCTPC), the Employer, intends to prequalify firms for the following contract under this Project comprising upgrading the existing gravel/earth road and track to either full gravel or paved standard.

It is expected that Invitation for Bids will be made in June 2006.

Interested eligible Applicants may obtain further information from MCTPC and inspect the Prequalifcation Document at the address given below, between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.

To purchase the Prequalifcation Document in English, eligible Applicants should:

  • write to the address above
  • pay of a non-refundable fee of US$100.0 in cash or cashier's cheque
  • pay an additional fee of US$50.0 for copies in dikettes.

The document will be sent by registered mail or courier services for an additional cost. No liability will be accepted for loss or late delivery of documents mailed.

  • on or before 1200 hours on 27 April 2006

The Employer reserves the right to accept or reject late applications.

The Employer will not be responsible for costs or expenses incurred by Applicants in connection with the preparation or delivery of Applications.

The Employer will notify in writing all Applicants who have been prequalified.
