This Invitation for Bids follows the General Procurement Notice for this Project that appeared in the "ADB Business Opportunities" on 6 January 2006.

The People's Republic of China has received a loan from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) towards the cost of Henan Wastewater Management and Water Supply Sector Project and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this loan to eligible payments under the contract for which this Invitation for Bids is issued.

CITIC International Tendering Co., Ltd., the Procurement Agent, authorized by Weihui Qingyuan Wastewater Treatment Component for the following:

Wastewater Treatment Equipment, 1 set, at Qingyuan Sewerage Co. Ltd.

Delivery period will be four months after the effectiveness of the contract for goods from within China and six months for goods from abroad.

International competitive bidding will be conducted in accordance with ADB's Single-Stage: One Envelope procedure and is open to all bidders from eligible source countries.

To purchase the Bidding Document in English, eligible bidders should:
  • write to the address above
  • pay a nonrefundable fee of RMB1,500 or USD190 in cash, cashier's check or direct deposit

The document will be sent by airmail for overseas delivery and surface mail or courier services for domestic delivery. No liability will be accepted for loss or late delivery.

Bidders must deliver their bids:
  • to the address below
  • on or before 10:00 a.m. (Beijing Time) on 11 May 2006. Late Bids will be rejected.
  • together with Bid Security of not less than 2% of the Total Bid Price or an equivalent amount in a freely convertible currency

Bids will be opened immediately thereafter in the presence of the bidders' representatives who choose to attend.

The Purchaser and the Procurement Agent will not be responsible for costs or expenses incurred by bidders in connection with the preparation or delivery of bids.
