1. The People's Republic of Bangladesh has received a loan from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) towards the cost of Jamuna Meghna River Erosion Mitigation Project (JMREMP), and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this loan to payments under the contract named above.
2. The Bangladesh Water Development Board now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for procurement of geo-textile bags in two lots as follows:

Interested eligible Bidders may bid for one or both lots.
3. International Competitive Bidding will be conducted in accordance with
ADB's Single-Stage: One-Envelope procedure and is open to all bidders from eligible source countries.
4. Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information and inspect the Bidding Document at the address given below.
5. The Bidding Document, in the English language, may be purchased by interested bidders on the submission of a written application to the address below and upon payment of a non-refundable fee of Tk.10,000 or US$ 200. The method of payment will be through a pay order issued by a scheduled Bangladeshi Bank located in Dhaka or demand draft drawn in favor of the Deputy Director, Dhaka Regional Accounting Center (RAC), BWDB, Dhaka, Bangladesh from a Bank located in Bangladesh or in bidder's country acceptable to the Purchaser. The documents may be collected by the authorized representative of the Bidder. In case of overseas delivery, the bidding documents will be sent by courier services upon payment of the fee in the manner stated above. No liability will be accepted for loss and late delivery.
6. Bids must be delivered to the address below at or before 2:00 pm on 28 March 2007. All bids must be accompanied by a Bid Security of:
Lot - 1: Bangladesh Tk.15,00,000 or US$ 21000
Lot - 2: Bangladesh Tk. 18,00,000 or US$ 25000
Bids will be opened at the address below at or before 2.30 p.m on 28 March 2007 in presence of the Bidders or Bidders' representatives who choose to attend.
7. The Purchaser will not be responsible for any costs or expenses incurred by Bidders in connection with the preparation or submission of Bids.
8. In the comparison of bids, ADB's Domestic Preference Scheme will be applied in accordance with the provisions stipulated in the Instructions to Bidders.
