Invitation for Bids

1. This Invitation for Bids follows the General Procurement Notice for this project that appeared in the "ADB Business Opportunities" on 28 October 2005.

2. The People's Republic of Bangladesh has received loans from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) towards the cost of Gas Transmission and Development Project and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of the loans to payments under the contract named above.

3. The Gas Transmission Company Limited (GTCL) now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for the supply and delivery of:
  • API 5LX60, LSAW 30" OD corrosion coated line pipes,
  • API 5LX60, LSAW 30" OD corrosion coated along with concrete coated and weighted (CCW) line pipes,
  • API 5LX60 ERW smaller dia station pipes,
  • API 5LGrade B 36" OD LSAW casing pipes
for the construction of 762mm OD (30") 51.00 km high pressure (1135 Psig) natural gas transmission pipeline from Monohordi to Dhanua and Elenga to East Bank of Jamuna Bridge

4. International competitive bidding will be conducted in accordance with ADB's Single-Stage: Two-Envelope bidding procedure and is open to all Bidders from eligible source countries.

5. Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information and inspect the Bidding Document at the address given below:

6. The Bidding Document, in English, may be purchased by interested Bidders during working hours from 26 January 2007 upon submission of a written application to the address above and upon payment of a nonrefundable fee of USD100 or Taka 7,000. The method of payment will be in by demand draft or pay order in favor of PGCL. No liability will be accepted for loss or late delivery.

7. Bids must be delivered to the address above at or before 11:00 am (BST) on 12 March 2007. All Bids must be accompanied by a Bid Security of USD350,000 or Bangladesh Taka 24,500,000 or an equivalent amount in a freely convertible currency. Late Bids shall be rejected. Bids will be opened immediately at 11:30 am (BST) in the presence of Bidders' representatives who choose to attend.

8. GTCL will not be responsible for any costs or expenses incurred by the Bidders in connection with the preparation or delivery of bids.
