1. This Invitation for Bids follows the General Procurement Notice for this project that appeared in the "ADB Business Opportunities" issue of January 2003.

2. Cambodia has received a Loan from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) towards the cost of Health Sector Support Project (HSSP), and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this loan to payments under the contract for the supply and delivery medical equipment for ten referral hospitals.

3. The Ministry of Health, now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for the supply and delivery of medical equipment for ten referral hospitals.

4. International Competitive Bidding will be conducted in accordance with ADB's Single Stage: One- Envelope Bidding Procedure and is open to bidders from all eligible source countries.

5. Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information and inspect the Bidding Document at the address given below.

6. The Bidding Document, in the English language, may be purchased by interested bidders on the submission of a written application to the address below and upon payment of a non-refundable fee of USD 500 or its equivalent in a freely convertible currency. The method of payment will be cash or certified check or direct money transfer to Account No. 30-400-6976 c/o Dr. Char Meng Chuor, Project Coordinator at Foreign Trade Bank of Cambodia, No. 3 R.V. Kramoun Sar, Phnom Penh, Cambodia, SWIFT:FTCCKHPP. The document will be sent by airmail (overseas) and surface mail or courier (local). No liability will be acceptable for loss or late delivery.

7. Bids must be delivered to the address below at or before 10:00 Hours on 4 May 2007. All Bids must be accompanied by a Bid Security of USD 40,000 or an equivalent amount mount in a freely convertible currency. Late bids shall be rejected. Bids will be opened at 10:10 a.m. on 4 May 2007 below in the presence of the bidders' representatives who choose to attend at the address given below.

8. The Ministry of Health will not be responsible for costs or expenses incurred by bidders in connection with the preparation or delivery of Bids.

9. In the comparison of bids, ADB's Domestic Preference Scheme will be applied in accordance with the provision stipulated in the Bidding Documents.
