Proposed Madhya Pradesh State Roads Sector Project II
India has applied for loans from the Asian Development Bank (ADB), for the Madhya Pradesh State Roads Sector Project II. The proposed Project has two components: an investment component and a sector development component. The investment component will rehabilitate and improve about 1,800km of state roads identified under the state road rehabilitation program. Road improvement works under the Project include rehabilitation and improvement to the existing roads; strengthening of existing culverts and bridges and construction of new bridges and cross drainage structures. The sector development component will provide the necessary support for the MP government to enhance sector capacity in improving road safety and controlling overloading. Procurement to be financed under the Project will be carried out in accordance with ADB's Procurement Guidelines 2006 as amended from time to time. International competitive bidding (ICB) will be used for all civil works contracts (15 packages ranging from $12 million to $32 million per package). National competitive bidding (NCB) and Shopping will be used for equipment (vehicle fitness testing equipment, weighbridges, etc.) NCB for goods will be used for supply contracts estimated at $100,000 to $1.0 million and Shopping will be used for contracts worth less than $100,000. Advanced contracting will be allowed to facilitate rapid implementation. Interested contractors from ADB's member countries who wish to obtain additional information may contact:Mr. Mohd. Suleman
