Contract:ND/WS/09 - Clear Water Sump & Pumping Stations at WT, BS1 and BS2

1. India has received a loan from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) towards the cost of the Urban Water Supply and Environmental Improvement in Madhya Pradesh Project and it is intended that part of the proceeds of this loan will be applied to eligible payments under the contract for which this Invitation for Bids is issued.

2. Indore Municipal Corporation now invites sealed bids for the following:

Package No.: IND/WS/09: Supply, Design, Construction, Operation and Maintenance of clear water sump and pumping stations at WTP, BS1 and BS2.

3. Only eligible bidders with the following qualifications should participate in this bidding
  • Minimum Average Annual Construction Turnover of Rs574,400,000 or US$12,487,000.00 within the last three financial years, cash flow of Rs 95,700,000.00 or US$2,081,000, positive net worth and experience of successful completion of one singe work of Rs 459,500.000.00 or US$10,200,000.00 in the last ten years
  • The bidder should have constructed at least one 7.5 ml. capacity water retaining structure for water supply, waste water sewerage or water resources with pumping station work with at least one singe pump of 400 kW and above including installation of pumps, 11 kV H. T. Electrical Control System Mechanical Equipment and allied works.
  • The bidder must also have experience in at least two pumping installation work each with a minimum capacity of 1250 kW.
  • In case of joint venture, all partners combined must meet all financial and relevant experience requirements. In addition, lead partner must meet 40% of all financial requirements and each of the other partner must meet the minimum 25% of all financial requirements.

4. International Competitive Bidding will be conducted in accordance with ADB's Single-Stage Two-Envelope Bidding Procedure . The bids may either be sent to the address below or may be submitted electronically.

6. For online bidding, interested bidders may download the Bidding Documentts, QA/QC Manual and Standard Specifications online at www.abcprocure.com/uwseip.

7. To purchase the Bidding Document in English, eligible bidders should:
  • pay a nonrefundable fee of Rs.5,000 or US$110 by demand draft in name of Project Manager, PIU, Indore payable at Indore.
  • at or before 15:00 hours, local time on 12 April 2007
  • the documents mayl be sent by courier services for an additional fee of Rs500 for domestic delivery.

8. A pre-bid meeting will be held at 14.00 hours on 9 March 2007 at Project Manager Office, PIU, Indore

9. Bidders must deliver their bids:
  • to the address above
  • at or before 15:00 hours, local time on 12 April 2007
  • together with a Bid Security of Rs.11,488,000 or US$250,000

10. Bids will be opened immediately after the deadline in the presence of bidders' representatives who chose to attend. Late bids will be rejected.
