1. This Invitation for Bids follows the General Procurement Notice for this project that
appeared in the
www.adb.org on 5 December 2006.
2. The People's Republic of China has received a loan from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) towards the cost of the Taiyuan-Zhongwei Railway Project and it is intended that part of the proceeds of this to payments under the contracts named above.
3. CMC International Tendering Corporation (CMC-ITC), the Procurement Agent, for and on behalf of Foreign Capital and Technical Import Center of MOR, the Purchaser, now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for the supply and delivery of the following goods:

Bidders are free to bid for one or any combination of lots.
4. International Competitive Bidding will be conducted in accordance with
ADB's Single-Stage: One-Envelope procedure and is open to all bidders from eligible source countries.
5. Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information at the address given below.
6. The Bidding Document, in the English language, may be purchased by interested bidders on the submission of a written application to the address below, between 9:00 am to 11:00 am during working days from 2 March 2007 and upon payment of a nonrefundable fee of RMB2000 or US$260. The method of payment will be by certified cheque or cash. Documents will be sent by express airmail. The documents may also be sent by courier services for an additional fee of RMB100 for local delivery or USD50 for overseas delivery. No liability will be accepted for loss or late delivery.

7. Bids must be delivered to the address below on or before 2:00 pm on 14 April 2007. All bids must be accompanied by a Bid Security of no less than 2% of the Total Bid Price. Late bids will be rejected. Bids will be opened immediately in the presence of bidders' representatives who choose to attend at the address above.
8. CMC-ITC will not be responsible for any costs or expenses incurred by bidders in connection with the preparation or delivery of bids.
9. In the comparison of bids, ADB's Domestic Preference Scheme will be applied in accordance with the provisions stipulated in the Instructions to Bidders.
