Loan 2296: Gansu Heihe Rural Hydropower Development Investment Program - Erlongshan Hydropower Project

The People's Republic of China received a loan from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) towards the cost of Gansu Heihe Rural Hydropower Development Investment Program - Erlongshan Hydropower Project. The loan was approved 18 December 2006.

The Project involves the construction of a hydropower plant of 50.5 megawatt (MW) (2x20 plus 1x10.5 MW) at Erlongshan, Zhangye, Gansu Province and 110 KV transmission line connecting the Erlongshan Hydropower Project to the Heihe grid substation. The main impact of the Project will be to provide environmentally clean power supply in rural areas of the Gansu Province.

Procurement
Procurement of goods, services and civil works to be financed under the ADB loan will be carried out in accordance with ADB's Procurement Guidelines. Through International Competitive Bidding:

Consulting Services
The Project will require 12 person-months of consulting services (2 international and 10 national) to supervise project implementation. Consulting firms will be engaged.

ADB-financed consultants will be selected and engaged according to the ADB's Guidelines on the Use of Consultants and other arrangements acceptable to ADB for selecting and engaging domestic consultants.
