The People's Republic of Bangladesh has received a loan from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) toward the cost of Power Sector Development Project. Part of this loan will be used for payments under the contract named above.

Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB) now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for the supply and delivery of the following Equipment and materials:

International competitive bidding will be conducted in accordance with ADB's Single-Stage: One-Envelope bidding procedure and is open to Bidders from eligible source countries.

To obtain the bidding documents in English, eligible bidders should:

  • write and collect the bidding documents to the address above
  • pay a non-refundable fee of Tk6,000 or US$100 by demand draft or pay order in favour of Director, Purchase, Bangladesh Power Development Board, Dhaka.

Bidders shall submit their bids:
  • on or before the deadline: 11:00 hours on 26 November 2005. Late bids will be rejected.
  • together with a Bid Security of US$10,000 or an equivalent amount in a freely convertible currency in the form of Bank Guarantee issued by a Schedule Bank of Bangladesh in favour of the Director of Purchase, Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB), Dhaka in accordance with the Format of the Bidding Document.
  • to the address above

The Purchaser is not responsible for bidders' expenses associated with preparing and delivering bids.

Bids will be opened:
  • in the presence of the bidders' representatives who choose to attend
  • at 11:30 on 26 November 2005
  • at the address above

When comparing Bids, ADB's Domestic Preference Scheme will be applied in accordance with the provisions stipulated in the Bidding Document.
