The Power Finance Corporation, India has received a loan from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) towards the cost of State Power Sector Reform Project, and it is intended that part of the proceeds of this loan will be applied to eligible payments under the contract for which this Invitation for Bids is issued.

The Maharastra State Distribution Co. Ltd. (MSDCL) now invites sealed Bids from eligible Bidders for the following Works:

The package envisages procurement of 11 kV Outdoor Switchgears under two lots towards Renovation and Modernisation Scheme of existing sub-stations located in the state of Maharashtra.

International competitive bidding will be conducted in accordance with ADB's Two Stage Bidding Procedure and is open to all Bidders from eligible source countries of the ADB.

Interested eligible Bidders may obtain further information from MSEB, and inspect Bidding Documents at the address given below from 10.00 to 16.00 hours (Indian Standard Time) on any working day from 5 September 2005 to 7 November 2005.

To purchase the Bidding Document in English, eligible bidders should:

  • write to address below
  • pay a nonrefundable fee of Rs.12,000/- or US$250 payable by cash, pay order or demand draft in favour of "Maharastra State Distribution Co. Ltd. and drawn on any of the scheduled Bank in Mumbai, India"
  • pay an additional Rs500 or US$10 for delivery of Bidding Document by post, mail or courier.

Bidders must deliver their bids:

  • to the address above
  • on or before 13:00 hrs (IST) on 7 November 2005
  • together with a Bid Security of:
    Lot I: Rs 3,736,000 or US$85,000
    Lot II: Rs 3,564,000 or US$81,000

Late Bids shall be rejected. Bids will be opened immediately thereafter in the presence of the Bidders' representatives who choose to attend at the address below.

MSDCL will not be responsible for any costs or expenses incurred by Bidders in connection with the preparation or delivery of Bids.

In the comparison of Bids, ADB's Domestic Preference Scheme will be applied in accordance with the provisions stipulated in the Bidding Document.
