Loan No. 1792: Technological and Professional Skills Development Sector Project

The Republic of Indonesia has received a loan from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) towards the cost of Technological and Professional Skills Development Sector Project (TPSDSP), and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this loan to payments under the contract for which this Invitation for Bids is issued.

The TPSDSP, Directorate General of Higher Education, Ministry of National Education, through the Sub-Project Management Unit (SPMU) of the Consortium of Universitas Kristen Indonesia Paulus, Universitas Muslim Indonesia and Politeknik Negeri Ujung Pandang now invites sealed Bids from eligible Bidders for the supply, delivery and installation of the following goods:

Laboratory Equipment for Mechanical Engineering Study Program

International competitive bidding will be conducted in accordance with ADB's Single Stage: Two-Envelope bidding procedure and is open to all Bidders from eligible source countries.

Interested eligible Bidders may obtain further information and inspect the Bidding Document at the address given below from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm local time (except Sundays and holidays).

The Bidding Document in the English language may be purchased by interested eligible Bidders on submission of a written application to the address below and upon payment of a nonrefundable fee of US$100. The method of payment will be by cash or cashier's check. The document will be sent by airmail for overseas delivery and surface mail or courier for local delivery. No liability will be accepted for loss or late delivery.

Bids must be delivered to the address below at or before 1:00 pm (local time) on 15 July 2004. Bids will be opened immediately thereafter in the presence of the Bidders' representatives who choose to attend. All Bids must be accompanied by a Bid Security of US$16,000 or an equivalent amount in a freely convertible currency. Late bids shall be rejected.

TPSDSP will not be responsible for any costs or expenses incurred by Bidders in connection with the preparation or delivery of Bids.

Alternative Bids will not be considered.
