Loan No. 2175: Jilin Water Supply and Sewerage Development Project

The People's Republic of China has received a loan from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) towards the cost of the Jilin Water Supply and Sewerage Development Project. The loan was approved 18 July 2005.

The Project will enhance urban environment, and improve public health and quality of life for urban residents in the cities of Changchun, Meihekou, and Liaoyuan by increasing wastewater coverage and improving the supply of potable water.

The Project scope includes improvement and expansion of the following:

A. Through International Competitive Bidding

  1. Changchun Component
    1. Beijao/Nanjiao Wastewater Treatment (WWTP) - Equipment and materials: WWTP works and effluent reuse networks
    2. Beijao WWTP Sewerage - Equipment and materials; interceptors, sewers, and pumping station
    3. Shuangyang - Equipment and materials; water treatment works
    4. Yongchun River - Equipment and materials: pipes, valves, accessories
  2. Liaoyuan Component
    1. Water Treatment Plants - Equipment and materials
    2. Water Supply/Distribution Pipes - Equipment and materials: pipes, valves and accessories
  3. Meheikou Component-Equipment and materials: (i)water intake, WTP, tools and spare parts
    4. (ii)water conveyance pipes, valves and accessories (iii)water distribution pipes, valves and accessories
Through Local Competitive Bidding
  1. Changchun Component
    1. Beijao/Nanjiao Wastewater Treatment (WWTP)- Civil Works: WWTP works and effluent reuse networks
    2. Beijao WWTP Sewerage - Civil Works: pipeline and brick utility holes and sewerage pump and maintenance stations
    3. Shuangyang - Civil works: water intake, WTP, road/river crossing
    4. Yongchun River - Civil works: River improvement, flood control, drainage works
  2. Liaoyuan Component
    1. Water Treatment Plants - Civil works and installation
    2. Sewer Pump Station and Pipes - Civil works: sewer pump stations, pipe (including pipeline)
    3. Water Supply/Distribution Pipes- Civil works: pipeline CW
    4. Secondary Booster Pump Stations- Civil works: secondary booster pump stations
    5. Mountain Torrent Control - Civil Works
  3. Meiheikou Compoment - Civil works: water intake, WTP, crossing roads and rivers
The first batch of bidding documents for the above items is expected to be available on or about last quarter of 2005, subject to a nominal charge.
