1. This Invitation for Bids follows the General Procurement Notice for this project that appeared in the "ADB Business Opportunities" on 28 October 2005.

2. The People's Republic of Bangladesh has received a loan from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) towards the cost of Gas Transmission and Development Project (Part B) and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of the loan to payments under the contract for Equipment, Hardware, Software and Accessories for 3-D Seismic Data Acquisition System (Impulsive Operation)

3. Sylhet Gas Fields Limited (SGFL) now invites sealed Bids from eligible Bidders for the supply and delivery of Equipment, Hardware, Software and Accessories for 3-D Seismic Data Acquisition System (Impulsive Operation) and Related Services for appraisal of Sylhet, Kailashtila and Rashidpur gas fields to upgrade the estimated gas in place and also to determine the exact location for future drilling activities. Delivery services under the contract shall be completed within 150 days counting from 21 days after issuance of commitment letter by ADB.

4. International competitive bidding will be conducted in accordance with ADB's Single-Stage: One-Envelope bidding procedure and is open to Bidders from eligible source countries.

5. Interested eligible Bidders may obtain further information from SGFL and inspect the Bidding Document at the addresses given below.

6. The Bidding Document, in English, may be purchased by interested Bidders from 3 July to 14 August on the submission of a written application to the addresses below and upon payment of a nonrefundable fee of USD152 or Taka 10,000. The method of payment will be in pay order or demand draft in favor of SGFL. No liability will be accepted for loss or late delivery.

7. Bids must be delivered to the address below at or before 1200 hours (BST) on 14 August 2006. All Bids must be accompanied by a Bid Security of USD134,000 or an equivalent amount in a freely convertible currency. Late Bids shall be rejected. Bids will be opened at the location specified below on the same day at 1215 hours (BST) in the presence of Bidders' representatives who choose to attend.
