1. India has received a loan from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) towards the cost of the Urban Water Supply and Environmental Improvement in Madhya Pradesh Project and it is intended that part of the proceeds of this loan will be applied to eligible payment under the contract for which this Invitation for Bids is issued.

2. Indore Municipal Corporation now invites sealed bids for the construction and completion of the works given below:

IND/WS/10 Design, construction, commissioning, operation and maintenance of 363 mld output capacity water treatment plant near village Baklai district Khargone Minimum average annual construction turn over Rs. 30 crores (6.7m$), cash flow Rs. 3 crores (.67m$), positive net worth, similar contract of Rs.18 crores (4.0m$) in last 5 years, should have constructed 180 mld wtp in last 5 years. The plant should be under successful operation and maintenance at least for two years

3. Bidders may bid for one or both contracts. Bidders wishing to offer discounts in case they are awarded more than one contract will be allowed to do so provided those discounts are included in the letter of Bid. In case of joint venture all partners combined must meet experience and financial requirements. At least one partner shall meet minimum 40% of turn over and cash flow requirements and all other partners must meet minimum 25% of turn over and cash flow requirements.

International Competitive Bidding will be conducted in accordance with ADB's Single-Stage Bidding Procedure .

5. To purchase the Bidding Document in English, eligible bidders should:
  • write to address above requesting the bid documents for IND/WS/06 or IND/WS/10 or both
  • pay a nonrefundable fee of Rs.5,500 or US$ 110 for each bid each bid by demand draft in name of Project Manager, PIU, Indore payable at Indore. Bidders who wish to receive the bid documents through courier shall pay an additional amount of Rs.1000 (US$22) for delivery within India or Rs.5000(US$110) for delivery to countries outside India for each bid document

6. Bidders must deliver their bids:
  • to the address above
  • at or before 3:00 p.m. on 12 September 2006
  • together with a Bid Security of Rs.39,70,000 or US$88,250 for IND/WS/06 and Rs.60,00,000 or US$133,300 for IND/WS/10

7. Bids will be opened immediately after the deadline in the presence of bidders' representatives who chose to attend. Late bids will be rejected.
