1. The Kingdom of Nepal has received a loan from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) towards the cost of the Urban and Environmental Improvement Project. Part of this loan will be used for payments under the contract named above. Bidding is open to bidders from eligible source countries of the ADB.

2. The Project Implementation Unit (PIU) of Hetauda Municipality (the "Employer") invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for construction and completion of the following Works: Supply and laying of various sizes of RCC hume pipes (approx 13 km) construction of brick masonry manholes, rain inlets, sewerage inlets, and road reinstatement works. Contractors will be required in their bids to demonstrate extensive experience of relevant construction.

The estimated construction duration of the contract is 18 months. Contractors will be required to demonstrate an average construction turnover of US$2.4 million per year. International competitive bidding will be conducted in accordance with ADB's Single- Stage Bidding Procedure without prequalification.

4. To purchase the bidding documents in English, eligible bidders should:
  • write to address above requesting the bidding documents for Contract No. HE-ICB-B-01; Sanitation and Sewerage Subproject
  • pay a non-refundable fee of NRs.4,000 or an equivalent amount in a freely convertible currency. Method of payment will be by a Bank Draft or cash deposit in favor of Project Implementation Unit (PIU) Hetauda Municipality.

5. Deliver your bid:
  • to the address above
  • on or before the time and date specified in the Bidding Document
  • together with a Bid Security of US$0.044 million or equivalent amount in a freely convertible currency or Nepali Rupees. Bids will be opened immediately after the deadline in the presence of bidders' representative who choose to attend.

6. The Employer will send the Bidding Document by express mail or courier for an additional fee of US$50. The Employer accepts no liability for loss or late delivery.

7. When comparing Bids, ADB's Domestic Preference Scheme will be applied in accordance with the provisions stipulated in the Bidding Document
