1. The Kingdom of Nepal has received a loan from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) towards the cost of Subregional Transport Facilitation Project. Part of this loan will be used for payments under the contract named above. Bidding is open to bidders from eligible source countries of the ADB.

2. The Project Directorate, Department of Roads, now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for the construction of the following:

4. To purchase the bidding documents in English, eligible bidders should:
  • write to address above or to the Department of Roads, Ministry of Planning and Works, Babarmahal, Kathmandu, Nepal, requesting the bidding documents
  • pay a non-refundable fee of NRs10,000 or an equivalent amount in a freely convertible currency for each contract deposited in favor:

    Local companies must attach copies of the Bidder's registration, VAT registration and tax clearance certificate.

5. The Bidding Document will be sent by express mail or courier services for an additional fee of USS150.0

6. Deliver your bid:
  • to the address above
  • at 12:00 noon on or before 30 October 2006
  • together with a Bid Security in the table above. If the bidder wishes to submit a Bid Security in cash, it should be deposited to Savings Acct. No. 131607, Project Directorate (ADB), DOR at Nepal Rastra Bank, Kathmandu and submit the receipt of the deposited amount along with the bid.

7. Bids will be opened at 1:00 pm on 30 October 2006 at the above address in the presence of bidders' representatives who choose to attend.

8. When comparing Bids, ADB's Domestic Preference Scheme will be applied in accordance with the provisions stipulated in the Bidding Document
