Loan No. 2200-BAN: Southwest Integrated Water Resources Planning and Management Project
The Republic of Bangladesh has applied for a loan from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) towards the cost of the Southwest Integrated Water Resources Planning and Management Project. The loan was approved 23 November 2005. The Project will enhance the livelihood of the rural population by improving the productivity and sustainability of existing under-performing flood control and drainage/irrigation schemes through holistic and participatory planning, development, and management of water, and delivery of support services to address locally identified constraints on agriculture, fishery, and livelihood development. ProcurementAll procurement will be done in accordance with ADB's Guidelines for Procurement. Through Local Competitive Bidding:
- Civil works - water infrastructure, riverbank protection, embankment cum roads
- Equipment and furniture
- Supplies
The Project will provide consulting services of 604 person-months: 72 international and 532 domestic. The consultants will be selected following ADB's Guidelines on the Use of Consultants and other arrangements satisfactory to ADB for engaging domestic consultants to assist Bangladesh Water Development Board and other agencies.
