1. The People's Republic of Bangladesh has received a loan from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) towards the cost of Dhaka Power System Up gradation Project, and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this loan to payments under the contract for Supply & Delivery of 33 kV Underground Cable and Cable Accessories.
2. Dhaka Power Distribution Company Limited (DPDC) now invites sealed Bids from eligible Bidders from the member countries of ADB for the supply of the following package:

3. International competitive bidding will be conducted in accordance with ADB's Single-Stage: Two-Envelope Bidding Procedure and is open to all bidders from eligible source countries.
4. Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from the address given below from Sunday to Thursday from 9:00 hrs to 17:00 hrs BST starting 17 October 2008.
5. To purchase the Bidding Document in English, bidders should:
- submit a written application to the address below;
- pay a non-refundable fee of Tk 15,000 or US$ 220. The method of payment will be in the form of Demand Draft or Pay Order in favor of Dhaka Power Distribution Company Limited (DPDC).
6. Bids must be delivered to:
- the address below;
- on or before 12:00 hrs BST on 2 December 2008. Late bids will be rejected.
- All bids must be accompanied by a bid security of US$ 75,000.00 or an equivalent amount in freely convertible currency.
Bids will be opened immediately after the deadline in the presence of the bidders' representatives who choose to attend at the address below.
7. DPDC will not be responsible for any costs or expenses incurred by the bidders in connection with the preparation or delivery of bids.
