1. The People's Republic of Bangladesh has received a loan from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) toward the cost of Secondary Towns Integrated Flood Protection (Phase II) Project, and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this loan to payments under the contract for procurement of eight units of bulldozers and eleven units of garbage trucks.

2. The Project Director, Secondary Towns Integrated Flood Protection (Phase-2) Project (STIFPP-2), Local Government Engineering Department (LGED) now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders from the member countries of ADB for the following packages:

3. International Competitive Bidding will be conducted in accordance with ADB's Single-Stage: One Envelope bidding procedure and is open to all bidders from eligible source counters.

4. Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from the address given below from Sunday to Thursday from 09:00 hours to 17:00 hours, Bangladesh Standard Time (BST).

5. To purchase the bidding documents in English, eligible bidders should:
  • write to address above
  • pay a non-refundable fee of Tk3,000 or US$45 by cash or bank draft in favor of The Project Director, STIFPP-2, LGED. The document may be sent by courier for an additional fee of US$ 40.00 in favor of The Project Director, STIFPP-2. No liability will be accepted for loss or late delivery.

6. Deliver your bid:
  • to the address above
  • on or before the deadline: 13:00 hours BST, 31 July 2007
  • together with a Bid Security of:
    Tk300,000.00 or US$4,000.00 - Lot No. 1 STIFPP-2 /LGED/ICB/G-05A
    Tk350,000.00 or US$5,000.00 - Lot No. 2 STIFPP-2 /LGED/ICB/G-05B
in the form of bank draft or bank guarantee. Late bids will be rejected. Bids will be opened in the presence of the bidders' representatives who choose to attend at the address below at 13:30 hrs BST on 31 July 2007.

7. The Local Government Engineering Department (LGED) will not be responsible for any costs or expenses incurred by the bidders in connection with the preparation or delivery of bids.

8. In the comparison of bids, ADB's Domestic Preference Scheme will be applied in accordance with the provisions stipulated in the Bidding Document.
